Grupo Rompe Cajon has played in numerous venues in the DC Metro Area. We tailor our performances based on your needs. For example:

  • Short performances of 10-15 minutes to showcase a few different Afro-Peruvian genres.

  • Educational presentations, from 20 to 45 minutes, combining performances with detailed descriptions of the music's historical and cultural context, explanation of the instruments, and more details. 

  • Full length concerts, covering the full spectrum of Afro-Peruvian genres, mixed with popular Latino songs played with Afro-Peruvian rhythms.

Fundraiser for Takoma Radio 94.3 FM

Benefit concert to support local radio station Takoma Radio WOWD 94.3 FM. This radio station is one of the things that makes living in this area special, a real community feel. They've been a big supporter of Rompe Cajon.

Pre-K Performance and Educational Presentation

Annual performance at a local preschool to share with the pre-K class the music and culture of Afro-Peru.

Mystical Poets Presents: Music and Lyrics

Producer Isaac "I-Dog" Asare and co-host Gil Ingles have assembled a diverse mix of energetic performers for a one-night-only event. Grupo Rompe Cajon will perform alongside local rappers, poets, and musicians from around the world. More details:

Silver Spring Day School

The group performed for the pre-K class at Silver Spring Day School, sharing the history and cultural context of the music as well as wowing the kids with several songs.
